For my presentation, I decided to analyze the work of Manuel Rivera-Ortiz. Maunel Rivera-Ortiz is a photographer that documented the living conditions of other people in underdeveloped countries/nations and to highlight certain things that the main media industry ignores. Manuel Rivera-Ortiz’s photos are in monochrome black and white. Manuel Rivera-Ortiz’s work is presented at The Manuel Rivera-Ortiz Foundation for Documentary Photography & Film.

My new perception of photography as I analyzed Manuel Rivera Ortiz, I learned when it comes to taking a storytelling photo not only are the emotions important but so is the surroundings. Taking storytelling photos are going to be ethically evaluative but a slightly higher angle, with a side angle, no matter if it is color or black and white. In the end when I take the photos it would have to be fluid and natural.
